i like the ambiguous and philosophical nature of the strip.
still not loving twiggles color though.. somehow it just looks like its not up to the quality of the rest of the strip.. i don’t know why. maybe it’s not the color, you just need a different kind of pencil to do better shading.
re colour,
Twiggles does look a bit flat here. How about if his body were yellow (as is) merging to a white face. Sort of like a coloured-pencil-gradient effect. No idea if it would work, just an idea/suggestion.
PS: on very first look, I thought Cobbe’s sign read ‘Hot Chicken’ - but that would be more Twiggle’s style, wouldn’t it
Twiggles was badly coloured-in on this strip which does not help one bit. I should (and would love to!) spend more time drawing the strip. Maybe when I slow down a bit
I take some credit for prompting this strip, which was executed to perfection.

For those coming in now, reference here is to a rather long but fun thread in which the duo were on display in a “weird chicken” cage: http://www.head-in-the-clouds.com/2010/05/04/plan-9-from-empty-space/
Definitely no offense taken. I really appreciate your comments and your support. I’d only be fooling myself if I thought my artwork was perfect: let’s call it a work in progress…

Just don’t get the eggs involved. They’re so stuck up about coming first

I bet Bill Watterson never got all this feedback

i still think white for their bodies with splashes of color on accessory stuff in the strip could be the best look. just my 2 cents.

Though you’ve pointed out there that chickens cannot fly definitely, and these fellows can even launch themselves into other comic strips:
http://www.head-in-the-clouds.com/2010/05/25/screech-for-the-skies/
The fact that they eventually escaped via gopher tunnel may have raised some confusion
BTW, there is no way search strips. Perhaps a page with all strips in tiny would be useful. Or a tag system, like: “egg - [wise] - cracks”

Haha - oh that is an excellent post Sam. And yes, kudos to you for inspiring both this strip, and also http://www.head-in-the-clouds.com/2010/01/05/the-crass-is-always-greener/

lol!
Sorry if I offended you back there.
Some of my comments have been rather negative.
Rest assured though, I love this strip - which is the only comic I have ever read more than one or two posts of.
Thanks. Keep up the great work!
