Considering that Cobbe comes from “Cob”,
I would assume that Twiggles comes from “twig”, no?
Which has two meanings:
a) small thin (part of a tree)
b) “to understand”. To realize something; to ‘catch on’.
Er, on second thought - perhaps from “wiggles”?
(Kind of makes me think of the worms poem) though I haven’t seen him eat worms since the very first strips, and EVERYONE loves him.

Great posts guys! I’m easing back on the shading and also replaced my scanner which seems to have helped a fair bit.
