Correct… on second viewing it’s not very clear is it. I should’ve added more clues somehow. As it is, I was yelling “fly, my pretties!” when I drew it.
It was very obvious… to anyone who still remembers the wicked witch of Narnia, um of Azkaban.. shoots!
I got it immediately, but that may just reflect my hoary age.
Considering the earlier references to the twilight zone and Sinbad the sailor, et al. I wouldn’t fret it.
Hmm, I guess using Linux kind of rubs off - for “H” Ubuntu used a “Hoary Hyrax”.. they’ve kept their naming tradition since, and I know of no other artist who could make good use of that knowledge
As far as the “N” for knowledge, confused readers should be informed that such is the claimed reason for the “N” on the uniform of the Nebraska team. Something every upstanding Brit should know, I presume, but which required Googling.
The reference to Kansas is to help bring out the Dorothy bit (and yes, Twiggles may be related to Toto). As was the the title.
Everything else hidden in there went over my head, (or would’ve had Reggie not disappeared before making it to Europe)
Good lord! What a wonderful summary. I confess, I had to look up the state slogan for Nebraska and was very amused to find a spoof one ‘The N is for Knowledge’ which I immediately stole.
I can see I shall have to start trying to be more allegorial in my ‘art’

What’s that red thing Twiggles is standing next to?

I think he landed on the wicked witch from the wizard of oz - the red is the shoes anyway.

‘hoary age’ - I like that! I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone use that in conversation before
