Very bad pun I’m afraid… a ‘hack’ is short for ‘Hackney Carriage’ which is a very old-fashioned term for a taxi. I’m probably just showing my age, come to think of it…

No, you’re showing your upbringing.
I grew up in Manhattan with “Checker cabs” - we used to fight over those fold up seats in the back.
And Grandpa was a cabbie.
But we never ever referred to them as hacks (though I have heard of it, once you mention it).
Now, we just need an image of a double-decker bus with the steering on the right..
