There were quite a few “outtakes” for this strip:
Some of the possible last panel dialogue included:
Twiggles: “We’ve got Windows…”
Cobbe: “…it’s curtains for us”
Twiggles: “It’s a Breville system”
Cobbe: “We’re toast”
Twiggles: “It’s a Unix system”
Cobbe: “Oh no, another dinosaur”

My first impression was that its just as logical for a virus to have been written to attack a Breville system as it is to attack one by Siemens
But then I found out that Suxtnet actually relies on the Windows OS to do its work, and that Kaspersky’s official stance is that the worm is “a working and fearsome prototype of a cyber-weapon that will lead to the creation of a new arms race in the world. Or, people can simply avoid the danger by not using Microsoft products.”
So I guess your ending is the most apt.

Is there any other strip out there that gets such intelligently reasoned-out comments?
I think not!

perhaps its time to make a comic strip about a guy reflecting on the comments to the in-comic comic strip that he writes.

Funny, just this morning I was thinking that Mouser should really appear in the strip.
Or, at the very least, his laughter.

Somehow I think it’s fitting for that to involve cats.
