not to get technical, but this strip is so perfect that it completely works as a standalone strip — it may even be more zen without knowing about any past strips, because in your mind you realize it could be true. definitely one of my favorites.
What an alarming legal jungle we move through every day, without even being aware of it.
I guess in the case of mouser’s laugh, it’d be like the rules about sampling people’s music. Aren’t I allowed a 3 second blast before it gets copyright-able?
No doubt the delay is due to reviewing/recasting his next strip till it makes this past one look lame.

That and his communing with Twiggles and [insert religion agnostic, politically correct, holiday related character here] to found out what directions to take his next storyline.

I’ve seen legal wrangles over who owns the comments posted on a blog (on facebook and techno-sailor).
You may just own the copyright on these comments.
If you were Apple, I would fret over being sued for referencing Mouser’s laugh (© HITC) without attribution.
