Just to explain

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

If you’re new to the strip, you may wonder how Twiggles and Cobbe ended up stuck to the front of a Jumbo Jet. Well, as they say on all the best TV series: “Previously on HITC” should explain everything.

Voting has started for the Web Comic Readers Choice Awards over at frumph.net and I’m really pleased to say we’ve been nominated both in the Design and the Newest categories, and have even picked up several votes already.

If you would like to show your support, why not head on over there right now and give us the thumbs-up? A big thank you to all who have voted, or who will do.

An apology

Monday, September 29th, 2008

First, I need to apologise for the bad pun that graces today’s cartoon. Waddya mean, you don’t get it? Am I the only one with a thesaurus around here?

Second, you’ll notice we dropped the banner from the top of the page. Part of our drive to ultimately become an ad-free webcomic! As soon as this thing is self-sufficient you will enjoy pure 100% HITC without the fluff. Until then, we just have to suck up those AdWords.

Last, but very much not least (well, from our egos’ point of view anyway) we got a really nice mini-review from the Fleen Team (find the blog here at www.fleen.com) so thank you very much folks!

Twiggles upside your head

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Cobbe is so lucky to have a friend like Twiggles on hand to save the day. I just hope it doesn’t go to his head.

We’re starting to see a lot of links into the site by now, so thank you to you folks who are flying the HITC flag out there, and coming back to us as regular readers.

Coming soon: competition time! Win HITC loot!

We’re two months old

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Today marks our eighth week for Head in the Clouds, and so far I must say I’m having a lot of fun with the site (mainly because all I have to do is write a bit and do some uploading) and it’s really satisfying to see Twiggles and Cobbe’s characters developing, largely thanks to Nick’s marvellous artwork. If you saw my original scratchy drawings that he has to work from you’d wonder how on Earth he puts up with it.

You will be glad(!) to know that we have plenty more in store for Twiggles and Cobbe - some longer story arcs and maybe even some “Sunday-size” strips.

We’re creeping up in the rankings on some of the comic sites, so a big thank you to all of you who click those buttons on the left, and an extra big thank you to all of you who have given us such great feedback here or on the forums.

No, Thank *You*

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Thank you to everyone for kind words and nominations for the WCRCA over at frumph.net. Voting takes place in October so no doubt Twiggles and Cobbe will mobilise the full power of their election campaign at that time.

Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.

I put a custom version of “Twiggles Wants YOU” into our E-card section, since he makes a great invitation card. Just add your own custom text on the bottom and blast him out to all your friends and family.

Twiggles wants YOU

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Our friends at frumph.net are running their WebComic Reader’s Choice Awards this month. You can makeĀ  nominations and view the canidates here at wcrca.frump.net

Twiggles Want You to Vote for H.I.T.C.

Twiggles heard about this and is now sending out a Call to Arms to all of his loyal fans. Or, as Cobbe put it: both of his loyal fans. You know who you are! Make him proud.

Twiggles running wild, new E-cards

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Well as you can see, we’re going to have to change the site admin password again. Twiggles got hold of it and now look what he’s done. Luckily Cobbe saw the funny side, in the end…

Of course when Twiggles gets his own website, he can do what he likes.

Also today: some new e-cards uploaded. They’re free to send and receive, so have a blast.

www.Google.gone

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

In fact, it would be a fine thing if Mr Googlebot would visit our site. At the moment he is studiously ignoring poor little Twiggles.

Thank goodness the web is not totally dominated by Google just yet - I’m delighted to say we seem to be making a lot of new friends even without the big search engines.

What the world evidently needs is a custom-built, niche targeted search engine just for online comics and web comics.

And if you wonder what on Earth…?

Our cameras were able to capture some footage of the kid in question:

I think I can safely say that we are brimming with pride to be able to bring you an online webcomic that engenders such happy emotions in our readers. Enjoy!

New Comic Strip, More E-Cards

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

As well as today’s comic, I just added two more strips to the webcards area. The site is filling out nicely now - I think we’ve hit a rhythm.

Hope you enjoy today’s strip - it’s the start of a mini-story and may just be based on how I was when I set up my first website. “Build it and they will come”, my @$$

Incidentally, for you trivia afficianados, the use of characters such as “@#$%*!!” to represent swearing or bad language is called a grawlix. Mort Walker, the creator of Beetle Bailey coined the word in the 1960s.
